Virginia Heart's Interventional Cardiologists are recognized local and national leaders who work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Patients at Virginia Heart are seen through the evolution of their disease and our team works with them individually to create a long term plan and treat them with interventional cardiac interventions when necessary. The Interventional Cardiology team at Virginia Heart prides themselves on being early adapters who use the most state of the art technology to treat our patients.

Virginia Heart's Interventional providers are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in each of the seven area hospitals we support, meeting the needs of our patients and providing the rapid response necessary in urgent or emergent situations. When patients present with acute heart attacks or ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI), prompt management is critical to successfully limit heart muscle damage by restoring blood flow in the blocked artery. Virginia Heart is dedicated to serving the most emergent patients and our Interventional Cardiologists are on staff at the following local hospitals. |Inova Alexandria Hospital |Inova Fair Oaks Hospital |Inova Fairfax Hospital |Inova Loudoun Hospital |Virginia Hospital Center |Reston Hospital Center |Stone Springs Medical Center
Virginia Heart's interventional cardiologists work alongside teams of surgical and hospital experts in order to provide our patients with the best life-saving treatment of acute heart conditions. Our providers use a wide range of therapeutic medications and interventional procedures to treat the heart and vascular conditions effecting our patient's health. Your provider will give you thorough instructions regarding your medications and in preparation for any procedure or test they recommend for you.
Structural Heart Program
Structural Heart Disease (SHD) is a relateively new discipline that uses cutting-edge technology to perform catheter-based procedures previously requiring open heart surgery. Virginia Heart has been at the forefront in offering structural heart evaluations and therapies to our patients as an integral part of the Heart Valve Clinic at IHVI. Dr. Nadim Geloo is fellowship trained in SHD and has 17 years of experience as an Interventional Cardiologist. We take pride in our personalized approach, providing individualized care and performing detailed and thorough evaluations to ensure all variables are carefully studied as each case presents its own set of unique challenges.
We value a team based multidisciplinary model of care with electrophysiologists and heart failure specialists. Patients with multiple co-morbities are treated with a collaborative approach. Multiple physicians partner together on the most complex cases done in the cardiac catherization lab which could include the expertise of a cardiac thoracic surgeon.
