Dr. Pradeep (Pat) Nayak is the President of the Medical Staff at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, where he has served as chief of cardiology, chair of the department of medicine, and medical staff secretary, treasurer, and vice president over the past 15 years. He was a founding member of Inova's adult congenital heart clinic, where he has been co-director. He now serves on the Inova Medical Affairs Council and the Inova Healthcare Board of Directors.
Dr. Nayak was born in New York and raised in Omaha and Virginia Beach by two physician parents. He was high school valedictorian and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors in (molecular) biology at Haverford College and was in the top quarter of his class at University of Virginia Medical School. He spent seven years as internal medicine resident, chief medical resident, and cardiology fellow in Philadelphia at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
At Virginia Heart, Dr. Nayak has served as a past member of the Board of Directors and as past Chief of Nuclear Cardiology. He holds active Board Certifications in Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, Internal Medicine and Cardiology.
He has been listed in every Washingtonian Magazine Top Doctor issue since 1998 and is a Castle-Connolly regional top cardiologist. He is listed in "America's Top Doctors" and The Washington Post's "Super Doctors" as well as Northern Virginia and Checkbook Magazine's Top Doctor issues.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Nayak enjoys reading and distance running in addition to spending time with his family.
