Edward Howard, MD, specializes in general, nuclear and interventional cardiology as well as peripheral vascular disease and vascular medicine. He is skilled in echocardiography, non-invasive peripheral vascular imaging and trans-radial coronary and peripheral vascular interventions. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, vascular interpretation, echocardiography, nuclear medicine and internal medicine. “I believe listening to patients is so important because I want to know how their condition is impacting them as an individual,” he said. “With modern medicine, endovascular, and surgical techniques we are able to achieve so much for our patients and I’m proud to be involved in these outcomes.”
A native of England, Dr. Howard earned his medical degree at the Leeds University School of Medicine and completed his doctorate from the University of Hong Kong. He pursued his residency at Georgetown University Hospital and completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Georgetown University Hospital/Medstar Washington Hospital Center and another fellowship in interventional cardiology at George Washington University Hospital.
In November 2017, WJLA-ABC7 featured Dr. Howard in a segment explaining the recently updated hypertension guidelines.
Dr. Howard enjoys cooking, skiing, golf and cheering for London’s Arsenal FC. He draws his greatest joy from spending time with his wife and his two young children.
