Dr. Trivedi Discusses the Growing Concern of CKM Syndrome on Fox 5 DC

Dr. Ketan Trivedi, Chief Medical Officer at Virginia Heart, appeared live on Fox 5 DC to shed light on the increasingly prevalent Cardiovascular-Kidney-Metabolic (CKM) Syndrome. This condition links four major health issues—cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity—into a complex and interconnected syndrome.

Dr. Trivedi emphasized the critical importance of prevention, particularly through diet, in managing and reducing the risks associated with CKM syndrome. With 1 in 3 American adults experiencing at least three of the risk factors for CKM syndrome, the need for widespread education on this issue has never been more urgent.

As Dr. Trivedi pointed out, cardiovascular disease prevention shouldn’t be limited to just February’s Heart Month but should be a year-round priority. "We need to focus on cardiovascular health 365 days a year, not just during a single month," he stated, highlighting the importance of consistent, proactive care for long-term health.

By raising awareness about CKM syndrome, Dr. Trivedi is helping to shift the focus toward prevention, empowering individuals to take control of their health through diet and lifestyle changes that can dramatically reduce their risk.
