Our focus and passion is to help you live a healthier, more vibrant life from the inside out. We specialize in weight loss, using the Ideal Protein Protocol. Ideal Protein is a medically designed and supervised, partial meal-replacement, ketogenic protocol. The protocol works by restricting your carbohydrate consumption, to encourage your body to use its fat stores for energy. This flip of the fuel source helps you maintain muscle throughout weight loss, so you can burn more fat.

Our Wellness Team

The Virginia Heart Health and Wellness center offers a comprehensive program to help our patients get the weight loss kick start they need and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Our wellness team has helped hundreds of patients in the Northern Virginia area achieve their weight loss goals, become more active, and live a life they never believed possible. In addition to our team of certified health and wellness coaches, we have a registered dietician on staff who is available for one-on-one consultations, providing meal planning and guiding to meet specific medical conditions and individual needs.

Virginia Heart is an independent authorized Ideal Protein Clinic.

What is Ideal Protein? Ideal Protein is a medically designed and professionally supervised weight loss protocol intended to improve overall health and wellness through successful weight loss and weight maintenance. It is a 3-phased protocol that helps you set, achieve and maintain your weight loss goals.

Maintaining Your Weight Loss

Once weight loss is achieved by following the Ideal Protein protocol, we will transition to stabilization and then maintenance. Patients will continue to work with their wellness coach who will tailor stabilization and maintenance to each individual's needs. In stabilization, we begin removing the meal replacements and add in whole foods such as complex carbohydrates, whole grains, starchy vegetables, fruit, healthy fats like avocado, nuts and seeds, and incorporate lean proteins. As the patient gains confidence and comfortability in their new lifestyle the transition to maintenance will begin. Phase 3 is the removal of all meal replacements and mirrors a heart healthy Mediterranean diet. Through every step, a coach is there to providing individualized meal suggestions/recipes, and lifestyle tips to provide an empowering lifelong change!

Common Questions

  • How does Ideal Protein work?

Ideal Protein is a 3-phase protocol. Phase 1= weight loss. Personalized coaching sessions, using meal replacements to maintain muscle mass while burning fat during weight loss. Phase 2= stabilization. Weaning off the meal replacements, and gaining lifestyle education from your coach for successful maintenance. Phase 3= maintenance. Maintenance education, continuing to meet with your coach for accountability, and discontinuing use of meal replacements.
